The Archery Range is open during current park hours and will be open year round.įriday, Saturday and Sunday: 9:00am-5:00pmįor additional information, please contact Billy Chapman, Talladega’s archery range manager, at or call (256) 474-4408 ext. Individuals who wish to also visit CMP’s rifle, pistol or shotgun ranges must watch Talladega’s original, separate safety video. Guests wishing to use the range must first watch a safety video developed specifically for archery, even if they’ve shot on the other ranges within Talladega Marksmanship Park in the past, and receive an archery safety card. Our minimal age for the Archery Range has changed from 10 years of age to 6 years of age. The current fee to use the range is $12.50 per person. The CMP offers a Basic Archery Course which is open to new and experienced competitors. A 30×60-yard practice range with a berm was also constructed. The foam Delta-McKenzie targets (typically used on the competition trail) are designed to fit along pathways tucked between the trees of Talladega’s terrain and can be arranged from 15 to 50 yards. For sure, I will recommend this place, to all family and friends. The CMP Archery Range at the CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park is located on the shotgun side of the grounds and outfitted with 20 lanes of life-size 3D targets, specially painted to look like live animals in their natural habitat. Also, the place is huge and well maintained. They inspired us to join the club giving more information and overview of what’s happening there like shooting competitions. Rain or Shine that dayįurthermore, the staff at the gun club are all friendly. Wow!!!-we even asked him If we can have a picture and video so that we have remembrance of that shining moment. He has also great sense of humour making it more fun and enjoyable. He shared clearly lots of shooting tips on how to focus and hit the target. His expertise will make you feel at ease and comfortable. Mark our excellent mentor, who is so energetic, action driven, smart and super knowledgeable. Patrick did it great □□□ lndeed, it’s unforgettable milestones wherein we hit the target with the helped of Mark Morelli and his colleagues. I don’t know if it’s a colour issue since my group was the only non palm coloured folks. This is not professional, not cool and doesn’t make others in attendance feel comfortable. I only gave four stars this time around because I get what some other reviewers wrote about some of the ROs “berating”/getting ignorant in front of people (We had no problems with Eric, he was fantastic!! Would request him next time if possible!). Best to wear crew neck shirts so that the hot shells don’t burn you in the event that they fly up onto you. They offered earplugs/ headphones and safety glasses if you don’t have any. The washrooms are Port-a-Pottys (fairly clean) and they do have hand washing stations outside most of them. You are free to take your target papers and shell casings if you’d like to. They did sweep up all the shell casings after everyone had cease fire. The facility was tidy and well maintained. He observed us as we were firing and gave pointers to help us successfully hit our targets. Our RO was Eric and he was really great, informative and friendly. The lady at the front office was super nice and friendly. We chose package E this time around, which allowed us use of the rifles and handguns. I’ve been going there since 2014! Heck! My pic is still the first one you see on here! Lol!! It’s been a little while since my friends and I have been to Silverdale.
